Charging points for electric cars

Before installing a charging point, you need to know what type of electrical connection you have.

The process depends on whether your home or premises already has an electrical connection (grid connection) or not.

 

If you do not have an electrical connection:

• You must request a new supply.
• This involves installing a new connection to the electricity grid.

 

If you already have an electrical connection:

• You do not need to request a new supply.
• You can increase your contracted power capacity if you need to.
• You can install the charging point directly using a certified installer.
