Charging points in private or community garages
- The installation must be carried out by an installer authorized by the Low Voltage Electrical Regulation (REBT). More information is available here.
- Your installer will install a new circuit exclusively for charging.
- If you need to increase the contracted power for the charging point installation, you must arrange this with your retailer.
- If your retailer tells you that you must arrange a power increase with the distributor, you can do so in the private area of the website.
- The community of owners must be notified (Art. 17 of the Horizontal Property Law).
- The installation must comply with the REBT (Revolutionary Electricity Tax) regarding connection diagrams, load provisions, and specifications for the space used as a garage.
- Depending on the characteristics of the garage, different solutions can be chosen based on the REBT (Revolutionary Electricity Tax) and its application guide:
- Common EV charging circuit for a community parking lot: a common, dedicated main meter will be installed for this circuit.
- Individual scheme with a common meter for the home and the charging station: If you need to increase the contracted power for the charging point installation, you must process this with your retailer.
- Individual scheme with a meter for each charging station: You must request a new supply from the distributor to have the CUPS associated with this new consumption, after which you must request the supply connection from the retailer of your choice.
- Remember that if you need to increase the contracted power of your CUPS, you must contact your supplier.
- The Homeowners' Association must be notified.

Do you need a power boost?
If you have a low-voltage supply with a smart meter integrated into the remote management system (contracted power <50 kW), go to the private area and check the maximum power demanded for each month. And if you think it's necessary to increase it, contact your supplier to request the change.
