Who is responsible for the meter?

If you are a customer or producer under the Special Regime, you are responsible for the electricity meter that measures your consumption or the energy you generate.

For this reason, you can choose between:

  • Renting the meter from e‑distribución, or
  • Installing your own meter.

Types of metering equipment

The characteristics of the meter depend on the type of installation and the measuring point.
The following table outlines the main characteristics of metering equipment, in accordance with current regulations.

In accordance with Royal Decree 1110/2007, the main specifications of the different types of metering equipment are as follows:
